The PHS Mu Alpha Theta math club hosted an in-house math competition for other PHS students. After signing up with the Mu Alpha Theta sponsor, Mrs. Bean, weeks earlier, students took one of three math tests that Mu Alpha Theta members had created and vetted earlier in the month.

This week's Workforce Wednesday speaker was Jannath Merckaert, a human resources representative, from Diversity Vuteq.  Diversity Vuteq is a company located in both Blue Springs and New Albany, MS and serves as an automotive parts supplier for Toyota Mississippi.

AP Biology students completed a murder mystery lab activity where they were asked to analyze a crime scene, and then interpret data to pinpoint a suspect. The students analyzed various items like blood, fingerprints, shoe prints, tested items for poison, and identified fibers left at the scene.

For the first time this year, the PCSD Choir will take to the stage to perform a show entitled: "Stranger Things: The Choral Experience." The first of TWO shows is coming your way on March 31st. Pre-Sale tickets will be on sale for $3 after Spring Break.  There will be a $5 admission at the door if no pre-sale ticket is purchased.

Our guest speakers for this week were from the Largest Furniture Manufacturer in the World! Isela Lemus and Diana Ortiz of Ashley Furniture Industries came and shared a vast amount of information and resources with our students.  The two took the CCR students on a virtual tour of different departments of the Ashley facility.  They shared information concerning internships, scholarships, professional careers, manufacturing and distribution opportunities, tuition reimbursement, and summer jobs.

A new scoreboard was installed at the softball field at D.T. Cox. Coach Wildmon shares, “We appreciate all the hard work and effort that Coach Webb put in to helping us get a new scoreboard. It looks awesome and we are glad to have it up and going this year!”

The little marshmallow creatures are the product of Mrs. Boothe's Biology students using their genetic knowledge to create a physical representation of alleles received from hypothetical parent aliens.  Students "breed" the aliens to create a line of marshmallow alien children and then used those alleles to "breed" a line of marshmallow alien grandchildren.
