(8/11) Pontotoc High School held a signing ceremony in honor of Noah Glover, Darrion Quinn, Evan Wray, and Edwin Tzib who will be attending the Bloom Neurodivergence Program at Itawamba Community College. Noah and Edwin are about to start Year 2 with Darrion and Evan gearing up for Year 1. We’re proud and excited to see these PHS alumni continue to grow and thrive as they embrace this incredible opportunity. (Edwin Tzib not pictured)

(8/11) Coach Gentry’s class worked on an ancient civilizations project that required students to research a specific ancient civilization, create a creative Google PowerPoint, and present their findings to the class. Students are learning about each civilization’s geography, government, beliefs, economy, technology, contributions, and other important aspects while taking notes to use in a final comparison essay.

(8/7) Mrs. Parman's English classes stopped by the library this week to check out books.

(8/7) Biology 1 students in Ms. Rogers and Coach Gory's classes learned about lab measurements in a scavenger hunt this week.

(8/7) In oral communication with Mrs. Alley, Juniors are practicing their interview skills on each other then introducing their partner to the class with a short presentation.

Toyota Mississippi recently held a graduation ceremony for their Spring 2026 Toyota Creating Your Future Internship graduates. Congratulations to PHS senior Uzzy Martinez, who was one of eight high school students taking part in the ceremony.

Uzzy received his Manufacturing Skills Basic Certification from Itawamba Community College, as well as, experienced new hire orientation and gained manufacturing experience in various departments of Toyota Mississippi.

We thank Toyota Mississippi Team Members, ICC instructors, and Express Employment Professionals for working with Uzzy this semester.

(4/22) Congratulations to Emery McIntyre for being named Valedictorian and to Zach Todd and Kiley Warren for being named Salutatorians for the Pontotoc High School Class of 2026!

(4/22) This spring, sixteen Pontotoc High School students are taking part in Frank K. Spain Internships through the Frank K. Spain Foundation at CREATE. Students work 100 hours at local businesses, industries and organizations to gain valuable work experience in fields which match both their aptitudes and interests.  On April 20th, at ICC Belden, PHS interns presented slideshows concerning the work they have done over this semester.  PHS is proud of these students and so appreciative of our community partners who extend students' learning outside the walls of the school.

(4/22) Pontotoc City School poetry winners converged at the Toyota Mississippi Experience Center in Blue Springs to celebrate and share their nature poems in a building that renews rainwater to flush toilets, uses solar panels to provide electricity, and employs other sustainable concepts that prioritize nature and leaving a smaller footprint.
