3/22/23: Career Camp Funding is still available at MSU and Ole Miss for students who attend the Pontotoc City School District.  If you know of a student who might be interested, please encourage them to apply with parental permission.  Students in 9th-11th grades can find this information in their email.

3/22/23: Congratulations to PHS Seniors Cadence Griffin and Dorienne Lawrence for being accepted into North Mississippi Medical Center's Mentorship Academy.

The NMMC Mentorship Academy is a model program created by the Mississippi Office of Nursing Workforce. The Academy targets students with interest in nursing or other health care careers. Students will be trained and mentored in a state-approved, 80-clock-hour Certified Nursing Assistant program.

3/21/23: Students in AP Computer Science recently adopted ducks, rubber ducks, that is! The rubber ducks will be used in the debugging process to help students articulate their program and talk out their coding errors.

3/21/23: The Pontotoc City School Choral Department will proudly present "Cobra Kai - The Musical Experience" on March 30 at 7:00. Buy tickets in advance for $5, or $7 at the door.

3/8/23: The local district of Daughters of American Revolution recognized Amare Young for his essay on the American Revolution. Amare received an award for his essay "To Be a Good Citizen." In his essay he answered the prompt: "How will the essential actions of a good citizen meet the challenges that America faces in this decade?" His key points included being dependable, helping your community, being a leader, and supporting your country. Congratulations, Amare!

3/7/23: Students in AP Computer Science have been learning all about computer networks. In the activity they had 4 different challenges they had to complete following specific guidelines such as creating a network where everyone could speak directly to each other, creating a network that connects everyone but uses the least amount of strings, creating a network that keeps everyone connected even if one line is cut, and creating a network that best balances all of the previous criteria.

3/7/23: Jeremy Ray has been named STAR Student for the 2022-2023 school year by the Mississippi Economic Council (MEC) M. B. Swayze Foundation, sponsor of the Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) program.

3/7/23: Students in Art II are learning clay basics and making creations with clay. They first learned how to make coils and pinch pots. Next, they will make slab boxes with lids.

3/7/23: Pontotoc High School FEA students read to students at the elementary school for Read Across America Day.
