9/26/22: The PHS student body voted last week for class officers. Click the link for results

9/26/22: Congratulations to Avery Fulford and Uzzy Martinez for being selected for students of the month.

9/22/22: Coach Moore’s Geometry class discuss the Triangle Inequality Theorem: two sides of a triangle must have a sum more than the third side. As a proof, students cut pieces of straws and, with a piece of yarn, tied together three of their pieces. Seeing whether or not they got a triangle after tying together their string and measuring their pieces was all in the proof.

9/19/22: Scholar's Bowl tryouts will take place Thurs., Sept. 22 and Fri., Sept. 23 at 7:30 in Mrs. Hutcheson's room. You only have to attend one day of tryouts. Contact Mr. James or Mrs. Hutcheson for more information.

Archery Try-Outs will be on Sept. 26th and 27th, 4:00pm - 5:30pm at D.T. Cox. Make-up day will be Sept. 29th at 4:00pm - 5:30pm. Contact Coach Walker for more information.

9/19/22: During her visit to PHS, Pontotoc County Circuit Clerk Melinda Nowicki provided seniors with the opportunity to fill out voter registration forms. Eligible students will be able to cast their first votes November 8. We appreciate her stopping by and making this an easy process for our students.

9/19/22: Congratulations to Hyrum Holmes, Trinity Ivy, Andrew Chrestman, and Channing Lane for being selected for students of the month.

9/19/22: Lennon Whitehead represented PHS as one of 15 students from across Mississippi to take part in the week-long McLean Entrepreneurial Leadership Program at the University of Mississippi.   The program focused on how Mississippi can utilize resources through Ole Miss to address some of the state’s most pressing needs. Outcomes of the program are designed to help stimulate business in local communities, improve educational systems, and strengthen the conversation between the university and community members.

9/14/22: Corey Mize, recruiter for Base Camp Coding Academy,  spoke to College and Career Readiness classes about the admissions process for Base Camp, which is located in Water Valley, and teaches students to become software developers in 12 months.  For the selection process for Base Camp, high school seniors must apply and go through an interview process and skill test.  Those who are accepted can go through the program for free!  The deadline for the admission application is February 28, 2023. Click link for application.
