Aug. 23, 2022: Mr. James used counting bears to take his high school Geometry students on a trip down memory lane WAY back to Kindergarten. He did this to show them they already knew a little more about inductive reasoning than they thought they did. When several examples form a pattern and you assume that pattern will continue, you are using “inductive reasoning.”

Homecoming week is just around the corner, September 12-16, with the theme "Warriors through the Years!" Celebrate your Warrior spirit through the decades on dress up days and with a homecoming t-shirt.

August 22, 2022: Mrs. Kelly’s English 3 class is learning all about how to write a good narrative. To draw some inspiration, students in her class played the game ”Clue,” and tracked their movements through the game.

Aug. 9, 2022 A limited amount of dual enrollment scholarships are available, through ICC and NEMCC, for current 11th and 12th grade PHS students who meet dual enrollment requirements.

Toyota Mississippi held a graduation ceremony for their Spring 2022 Creating Your Future Internship graduates on May 17th at the new Toyota Experience Center in Blue Springs.  Congratulations to PHS senior Kaden Tucker who was one of five high school students completing the 15-week internship program.
Kaden received his Manufacturing Skills Basic Certification from Itawamba Community College, as well as, experienced new hire orientation and gained manufacturing experience in various departments of Toyota Mississippi.

On May 16th, Pontotoc High School hosted a signing day for students who were accepted into Base Camp Coding Academy in Water Valley.  Sean Ennis, Director of Base Camp Coding Academy. visited the school and signed and offered full scholarships to Jacobe Johnson and Angel Maldonado. These students will be working with real world technologies to learn the fundamentals of coding, app development, and the life and  leadership skills needed to be successful and competitive in the job market, as software developers.
