8/8/24: PHS Senior Leah Zinn participated in the Girls State weeklong summer leadership program at Ole Miss, sponsored by Mississippi's American Legion Auxiliary. Leah and other delegates at Girls State took on roles in a bipartisan political system, electing leaders and presenting a political platform for consideration by the total group.

8/6/24: PHS Sophomore Adam Rodgers took part in the Engineering Summer Academy at the University of Mississippi. He was able to take part in lectures and activities and experience what it is like to be an engineering major at Ole Miss.

8/5/24: Ellie Swain took part in the Environmental Engineering Camp at the University of Mississippi this summer. She learned about the many ways environmental science is applied in the field of engineering.

8/5/24: On the first day of school, Mrs. Kelly’s English three and English four classes completed an escape room to learn about all of the routines, rules, and procedures for the semester in her class. The students had a great time, and got to know each other better through a “get to know you” bingo game, completed scavenger hunt for classroom resources, and did a syllabus close read for the class. We are so excited for what this semester will bring!

8/2/24: PHS Senior Samari Berry was one of 21 students from across the state to complete the Rural Medical and Science Scholars Program at Mississippi State University this summer. She gained college credit while investigating careers in the medical field. Congratulation, Samari!

8/2/24: Dr. Payne, along with Assistant Principals Mr. Jackson and Mrs. Mask, and senior counselor Mrs. Kidd, welcomed the senior class back to school during an assembly Friday morning. Each grade met with the principals and counselors as they presented expectations to students with goals of a successful school year.

4/29/24: MAAP and AP tests will begin next week. The days leading up to test days are very important. Encourage your student to get plenty of rest, be present and on time. Let's finish strong!

5/3/24: Toyota Mississippi held a graduation ceremony for their Spring 2024 Creating Your Future Internship graduates May 2nd at the Toyota Experience Center in Blue Springs.  Congratulations to PHS senior Kamaij Johnson who was one of the seven high school students completing the 15 week internship program.

5/3/24: Congratulations to PHS junior, Samari Berry, for being accepted into the Summer 2024 Rural Medical and Science Scholars Program. As a Rural Medical & Science Scholar, Samari will be part of a 2 week residential summer program at Mississippi State University.
