4/22/24: PHS students will take benchmark tests on the following days: Tuesday - Algebra 1;
Wednesday - English 2;
Thursday - Biology and US History.

4/18/24: UPDATED: The PHS theater production of Peter Pan, an adaptation of J.M. Barrie's novel, is now showing! All PCSD students will have the opportunity to see the play for $2 on April 18 or 19. Public performances will be $5 admission on April 19th at 7pm, April 20th at 2pm and 7pm.

4/18/24: PHS physics students have been studying sound waves, particularly resonance in open tubes. FBC Pontotoc allowed students access to the pipe room behind the pulpit in the sanctuary. School nurse and organist Mitzi Russell played the organ and explained how it functions by forcing air through the pipes. Pipes range from the size of a pencil to taller than 8 ft.

4/18/24: Several PHS Student Council members volunteered to serve lunch at the SALT program (Seniors and Law Enforcement Together) at the Pontotoc Agri-Center on April 17.

4/18/24: During the last regular season home game, PHS Seniors Elizabeth Dowdy and Mollie Butler were honored for their consistent contributions to the PHS Baseball program over the years.

4/17/24: The Pontotoc County Chamber/Main Street Association sponsored an Employment Expo for all seniors in the Pontotoc City and County Schools on April 16th at the First Baptist Church Gym in Pontotoc. Many businesses and industries were on hand to inform students about local jobs that are available to them for long term employment, summer employment, or employment while they attend college. Training options were also highlighted.

4/9/24: Sophomores met with the Balfour representative to learn about ordering class rings. The school's Balfour representative will return on Friday, April 12th at 9:30 to take orders. Must pay $100 deposit to place order.

4/9/24: Our PHS Student Council did an outstanding job volunteering at the annual Regional Rehab 5K Run and Walk on Saturday, April 6. The volunteers this year were London Harris, Abigail Gillespie, Josie Warren, Ava Robbins, Anna Reid Crane, Caden Clements, John Paul Burton, and Benjamin Ross.

3/27/24: The PHS Art Show will be held on Thursday, April 25 from 5-7p.m. in the FredEx Building. See the works of talented student artists & get creative with fun arts & crafts for all ages. Artworks will be judged by local artists: 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place ribbons in each category, plus 1 best of show ribbon.
