9/20/24: At the Toyota "Driving Possibilities" event on Wednesday, PHS students Jose Solis and Cheyenne Elgin, along with career coaches Mrs. Dale and Mr. Westbrook, shared ways the high school connects students with STEM opportunities through the internship program and summer camp opportunities. Other high school and district faculty, staff, and students attended to share and celebrate this incredible partnership!

9/19/24: Next week! Juniors and seniors will go to the College & Career Fair on September 23rd at the Pontotoc Gateway Pavilion. They will meet representatives from colleges, the military, and local industries, as well as learn about programs and scholarships.

9/19/24: Coach Turner's safety ed. class learned about the career path to become a fireman. They learned how to use the equipment and gear. They discussed fire safety at home and common hazards for drivers that cause accidents. Thank you to the firemen who collaborated on this lesson to make it a memorable experience for students.

9/18/24: Homecoming T-shirts are officially on sale! Order forms will still go out to all of the schools on Monday, but if you want to save the hassle of sending the form and money to the school, you can simply order from the website below!

9/18/24: Mrs. Armstrong and Mrs. Chunn led teacher PLC meetings this week, exploring different ways to teach in the high school classroom in order for all students to achieve more success. Mrs. Armstrong shared strategies for utilizing small groups (collaborative groups, student-led groups, and teacher-led groups) to provide targeted support for students. Mrs. Chunn shared information and guidelines on the EL Newcomer Program.

9/18/24: The PHS Cheerleaders would like to extend an invitation to ALL PHS CHEER ALUMNI to participate in the first annual Alumni Cheer Event on Friday, Nov. 1. Register soon! The cost of $30 includes a shirt, face tattoo, and admission to the football game for the participant.

9/13/24: Students prepare to write essays in Mrs. Bramlett’s class by breaking down the MAAP writing rubric and putting together presentations on different sections using reciprocal teaching to teach classmates.

9/13/24: Thank you to Anna Crudup, North Mississippi Health Services recruiter, for visiting PHS and speaking about job shadowing and career opportunities at North Mississippi Medical Center Facilities.

9/13/24: The PHS faculty, staff, and friends enjoyed grilled hamburgers with all the fixings last Friday provided by the PHS PTO. Thank you for such a delicious lunch!
