9/4/24: Parents and guardians are invited to open house at PHS this Thursday, Sept. 5, 5:30-6:30pm.

9/3/24: In Mrs. Kelly's English IV Class, students participated in "32 Second Macbeth," as an introduction to the Macbeth Unit! Students were broken into groups, and given a "script" that contained the most important lines from the play. As a group, they chose their "parts" and then they rehearsed their lines as a group, with the goal of reciting all of the lines (as well as acting out a few things) in 32 seconds or less!

8/28/24: Students in Mrs. Armstrong's English II class, are kicking off their next passage with an interactive, hands-on pre-reading activity designed to spark curiosity and get everyone thinking deeply about the themes being explored.

8/28/24: Mrs. Kelly's English III class worked on identifying the stages of a narrative by evaluating textual evidence, then deciding where it belongs within the stages of the plot.

8/28/24: Congratulations to the following students! The PHS Homecoming Court will be presented at the Homecoming Football Game on October 10th against New Hope.

8/26/24: PHS will host an Open House on Thursday, September 5 from 5:30-6:30.

8/23/24: Mrs. White's Algebra students worked in pairs to review their Unit 1 material. Utilizing new dry-erase desks, students grabbed dry-erase markers from bags at each desk and began working problems and comparing results. Students asked each other questions and helped those needing to make corrections.

8/23/24: English I students in Mrs. Bramlett's and Mrs. Taylor's classes visited the high school library this week to learn about the variety of resources the PHS library has to offer students and to put library skills to the test with a scavenger hunt, using the online catalog to find books.

8/14/24: Pontotoc County Circuit Clerk Melinda Nowicki
met with the senior class this morning to give the students the opportunity to register to vote.
