10/23/24: This morning, the Balfour representative met with seniors and early graduates to give them a graduation order packet and to discuss the different packages available for purchase. He will return next week on 10/31/24 to take orders. Please make sure your graduate shares this information packet with you ASAP. Many items are optional, but the cap, gown, and diploma are items all seniors should order.

10/23/24: If you haven't bought your PHS Warrior yearbook yet, plan to soon! The early-bird price of $55 will increase after Oct. 31!

The Red Ribbon Campaign is the largest drug-abuse prevention campaign in the United States. PHS promotes a safe and healthy learning environment and knowledge about drug free choices. Check out the flyer for the dress up days!

10/21/24: The pageant will be MONDAY, NOVEMBER 11. There will be an interest meeting today at break in the Commons to pick up paperwork. All forms and payment are due back to Mrs. Kelly by Wednesday, October 30, 2024. This year there will be a separate division for each grade level, and special awards that will be awarded to girls from all grade levels. Please see Mrs. Kelly for a packet.

10/10/24: Mrs. Bean’s Algebra 3 classes measured the flag pole at the soccer field using tape measures, rulers, and angle gauges. The students used right triangle trigonometry, similar triangles, and the Boy Scout method to estimate the height of the pole.

10/9/24: Mrs. Kelly’s English III class completed a board game project as their midterm! Students were allowed to base their board game off of any of the literary eras of American literature that have been covered in class, including Hamilton/American Documents (Federalist Papers, Declaration of Independence/Reynolds Pamphlet/Etc.), The Crucible, Little Women, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, and Masque of the Red Death. Students had to do everything from designing the board game, to creating the board, creating the game pieces, writing content questions for the game, writing the instructions, and more!

10/8/24: The CREATE Foundation's Northeast Mississippi Youth Foundation (NEMYF) held its annual leadership retreat on the afternoon of October 6th in Tupelo. NEMYF is proud to have 66 board members representing 34 schools and 15 counties in Northeast Mississippi this year. NEMYF board members representing the Pontotoc City School District are: Luke Blanchard, Kyleigh Conner, Mary-Margaret Deaton, Mallie Maffett, Zach Todd, and Lennon Whitehead. Thank you to these students for representing us so well.

10/4/24: Students in Coach Gory's biology classes completed karyotyping charts to determine which chromosome pairs are responsible for abnormalities.

10/3/24: The early-bird price for the 2025 Warrior Yearbook is $55 until the end of October. Be sure to buy your yearbook before this deal expires!

9/26/24: Yesterday, Coach Gentry's world history classes came to the library to collaboratively explore and analyze the complex causes of WWI, focusing on militarism, alliances, imperialism, and nationalism, and how those factors contributed to the outbreak of war. Each group created a poster highlighting these causes to present to their class.
