This is a one-week residence camp funded by the FHWA and MDOT. Participants will experience transportation modes including air, water, road, rail, and transmission through classroom, laboratory, and field trip experiences. Field trips are planned to include visits to Columbus Air Force Base (CAFB), Aurora Flight Science, PACCAR, Raspet Flight Research Laboratory (RASPET), Mississippi Agriculture and Forestry Museum, MDOT, MMC, the Tenn-Tom Waterway, and Center for Advanced Vehicular Systems (CAVS). The opportunities to fly in a GA aircraft, fly an AF simulator, build projects, experiment with bridge design, building, and testing are provided. There is no registration fee. All participants are expected to commit to the entire one-week program.
Participants must be U.S. citizens and acquire a state-issued ID by the beginning of the camp. School IDs can not be substituted for state-issued IDs.
