Shaniya Brown and Addyson Triplett, state-wide poetry winners, did an amazing job reading their poems during the award ceremony.
The festival featured writing workshops led by professional Mississippi poets, a keynote address by National Youth Poet Laureate Stephanie Pacheco, and the distribution of an anthology featuring the students’ work from the Mississippi Poetry Project.
The students enjoyed visiting the Delta State campus on such a beautiful day, sharing a common love for poetry.
