2/13/25: Pontotoc High School Cheer Tryouts for the 2025-2026 school year are set for the following dates: 

 Clinic Days: 
• Wednesday, February 26 from 3:30-5:30 pm 
• Friday, February 28 from 3:30-5:30 pm 

 Tryouts: 
• Saturday, March 1 from around 10:00 am until finished

Tryout packets and tryout fees will be due back to Mrs. Kelly no later than Friday, February 21!  We hope to see you there!

2/6/25: We are thrilled to announce the 2025 PHS Diamond Girls! As Diamond Girls, these students will play an important role in promoting team spirit, assisting with game-day operations, and representing our program with pride and enthusiasm. We look forward to a fantastic season ahead!

2/5/25: The PHS Sophomore Class earned 39,276 points in the 2024-2025 Virtual Imagine the Possibilities Career Expo. Prize drawings will be held soon to see which students in our region won Apple product prizes.
Top point earners from PHS were Syesha Smith, Faith Tzib and Kameron Murillo. Congratulations to each of them for leading their class in points and each receiving a Wal-Mart gift card. Also, congratulations to the PHS Class of 2027, as a whole, for their point earnings.

2/4/25: PHS wishes Kelli Warren and Penny Kidd a Happy School Counselor's Week! THANK YOU for ALL you do!

2/3/25: Mrs. Jennings’ Biology 1 explored the marvels of biology through a Macromolecule Gallery Walk! 🧬✨ Students were actively engaged, moving around and collaborating in groups as they visited various stations, gathering answers and broadening their understanding. #BiologyInAction

1/30/25: Mrs. Kelly’s English 4 class competed in “32 Second Macbeth” as an introduction to their Shakespeare unit. Students were given a script of the most important lines from the play, and then competed against each-other to see which team could make it the fastest! Our winning group finished their lines in 28 seconds!

1/30/25: Mrs. Kelly’s English 3 classes completed a gallery walk to learn about the Salem Witch Trials to prepare for their “Crucible” unit! The Crucible is a four-act play by American playwright Arthur Miller published in 1953.

1/29/25: There are some first come, first served camp scholarship opportunities for PHS 9th-11th grade students who want to attend the Mississippi State University Veterinary Medicine Camps this summer. The $25 registration fee is not covered through scholarship funding. These camps fill up fast. If you are interested and you have your parent's/guardian's approval, you need to apply as soon as possible to have a chance to receive the funding.
