9/6/23: Two of our Senior Warriors have completed the interview process and have been accepted into the Fall 2023 Toyota Creating Your Future Internship Program. Jatazia Hoover and Talen Berry are taking part in a 15 week paid internship program at Toyota Mississippi and Itawamba Community College and will be working toward their Manufacturing Skills Basic Certification for five weeks, doing a two week Toyota Orientation, and then doing two week rotations in the stamping, body weld, paint, and assembly production departments of Toyota. Congratulations Jatazia and Talen!

9/6/23: On August 30th, Charlie White, Director of Safety, Environmental and Human Resources for B&B Concrete Co, Inc., visited and spoke to CCR Classes.  Mr. White shared the history of concrete, uses for concrete, and the many types of careers available at B&B Concrete's 13 locations in NEMS.   The careers were in the areas of support operations, quality control, production and maintenance.  He also shared about college programs available for students wanting to continue their education in majors related to the concrete industry.

9/5/23: Mrs. Kelly’s English III Classes are learning about the Salem Witch Trials as an introduction to “The Crucible.” They completed a gallery walk full of information to help them understand the people involved, the motivation behind the trials, and more!

9/5/23: Mrs. Kelly’s English IV class started their “Macbeth” unit this past week, and started it off with a bang. After learning about Shakespeare and the background of the play, students participated in a competition titled “32 Second Macbeth.”

9/1/23: The PHS Library has been busy this week! Students have been working on stations in Mrs. Bean's Algebra class and learning research skills in Mrs. Parman's Dual Credit Composition classes. Freshmen in Mrs. Bramlett's English 1 class came by to learn the ins & outs of the PHS library during library orientation, and another class came by to check out books. Mrs. Beatty brought her oral communications class to print pictures for an upcoming assignment. Before school, during advisory, and lunch, students dropped in to work together on a puzzle or play a quick game of chess.

9/1/23: Mrs. Taylor’s English I class is studying The Odyssey. Last week, they put the places Odysseus visited in chronological order and represented them on a map. Each location included a relevant symbol, the residents, and textual evidence.

9/1/23: Faculty, staff, students, and parents are invited to follow Toyota Wellspring Education Fund on Facebook and Instagram. By following, you can see some of the ways the fund is helping students in Northeast MS (and you may even want to give a shoutout to our PHS students when they are featured).

9/1/23: Mrs. Bean’s Algebra 2 class reviewed quadratic functions, systems of equations, systems of inequalities, and optimization in the library using stations. Students worked together to create graphs and solve problems.
