XC Runners Leave for State Championship Nov. 5, 2021With the band playing in the background, high school and junior high students, teachers and family cheer on the cross country team as they board the bus headed to Jackson. Runners will compete on Saturday, November 6 at Mississippi College's Choctaw Trails.
Scholar's Bowl Competition On Saturday, October 30, Pontotoc High School Scholar's Bowl competed at Ole Miss for the Brain Brawl competition. Juli Stutsy, Trinity Ivy, and Mollie Rackley competed against local public and private schools in the knowledge-based tournament.
Workforce Wednesday Nov. 3, 2021Court reporters are known as guardians of the record because of their impartiality and role within the judicial process. They capture the words spoken by everyone during a court proceeding and then prepare verbatim transcripts of proceedings.PHS students were introduced to the world of court reporting in this week's Workforce Wednesday. Desi Arnold and Melanie Owen, court reporters, spoke to College and Career Readiness classes and shed light on this fascinating field. They even brought a stenotype machine and performed demonstrations and allowed students to try their hand at using the machine themselves.

Math in Action Oct. 28, 2021Algebra 3 classes at PHS had a group project where they used trigonometry to find the missing sides and angles of triangles. The next day, students used surveying instruments to create their designs.
