Algebra 3 classes at PHS had a group project where they used trigonometry to find the missing sides and angles of triangles. The next day, students used surveying instruments to create their designs.

Nearly two dozen juniors and seniors donated blood today, potentially giving lifesaving blood to someone in need.

In Mrs. Kessinger's class, students worked with inferencing using Alice Walker's short story "The Flowers." Students had to make inferences about the time period, location, and characteristics of characters based on information given in the story. Students also had to investigate a recreation of the crime scene that is described in the text, and draw conclusions about how the crime was committed and for what reasons by creating detective and medical examiner reports.

Mr. Corey Wages, Vice President of First Choice Bank, visited College and Career Readiness classes at PHS and spoke to the students about wise credit choices. Students learned what a credit report is, how a credit report is used, how to start credit, what a good credit score is, and the steps of purchasing a home. He also allowed the students a question and answer question.

Miss Mississippi Volunteer Rachel Shumaker, along with Sergeant McGee, spoke to PHS students about measures students can take and make habit to combat preventable accidents on roads, including wearing seatbelts and not driving distracted or under the influence.
