9/15/23: Our seniors met with Chloe Hester, a recruiter from ICC on Thursday. Mrs. Hester walked students through the college application process and encouraged everyone to go ahead and begin applying for their freshman year.

9/15/23: For this week's Workforce Wednesday, Base Camp Coding Academy Director Sean Ennis  spoke to College and Career Readiness classes about the admissions process.   Base Camp is located in Water Valley and teaches students to become software developers in 11 months.

9/13/23: Alexandria Brandon (sophomore) received 2nd place in the 2023 fish hatchery youth art contest. Kassandra Ramirez (2023 graduate) received an honorable mention. Both of their pieces of artwork are printed in this month's issue of Mississippi Outdoors!

(9/13): The PCSD librarians attended the LAMP workshop this week. Kellie McIntyre, author of The Passport Project, spoke of her memoir. Elizabeth Simmons informed librarians of the MAGNOLIA database updates from MDE.

9/6/23: We welcomed Anna Crudup, North Mississippi Health Services recruiter, as this week's Workforce Wednesday Speaker.  Ms. Crudup, who is a proud PHS graduate, spoke about opportunities available through North Mississippi Medical Center locations.  She talked about professional healthcare and administrative careers which require a degree as well as careers students can go into right after high school like environmental services, food and nutrition, facility operations, nursing assistant, supply process distribution, and security.

9/6/23: Two of our Senior Warriors have completed the interview process and have been accepted into the Fall 2023 Toyota Creating Your Future Internship Program. Jatazia Hoover and Talen Berry are taking part in a 15 week paid internship program at Toyota Mississippi and Itawamba Community College and will be working toward their Manufacturing Skills Basic Certification for five weeks, doing a two week Toyota Orientation, and then doing two week rotations in the stamping, body weld, paint, and assembly production departments of Toyota. Congratulations Jatazia and Talen!

9/6/23: On August 30th, Charlie White, Director of Safety, Environmental and Human Resources for B&B Concrete Co, Inc., visited and spoke to CCR Classes.  Mr. White shared the history of concrete, uses for concrete, and the many types of careers available at B&B Concrete's 13 locations in NEMS.   The careers were in the areas of support operations, quality control, production and maintenance.  He also shared about college programs available for students wanting to continue their education in majors related to the concrete industry.
