(4/22) Congratulations to Emery McIntyre for being named Valedictorian and to Zach Todd and Kiley Warren for being named Salutatorians for the Pontotoc High School Class of 2026!

(4/22) This spring, sixteen Pontotoc High School students are taking part in Frank K. Spain Internships through the Frank K. Spain Foundation at CREATE. Students work 100 hours at local businesses, industries and organizations to gain valuable work experience in fields which match both their aptitudes and interests.  On April 20th, at ICC Belden, PHS interns presented slideshows concerning the work they have done over this semester.  PHS is proud of these students and so appreciative of our community partners who extend students' learning outside the walls of the school.

(4/22) Pontotoc City School poetry winners converged at the Toyota Mississippi Experience Center in Blue Springs to celebrate and share their nature poems in a building that renews rainwater to flush toilets, uses solar panels to provide electricity, and employs other sustainable concepts that prioritize nature and leaving a smaller footprint.

(4/21) Congratulations to the English II and Algebra I teachers and students for earning a PREPS Achievement Award for the 2024-2025 school year. PHS is proud of their hard work and dedication and celebrates this achievement with them!

(4/20) Congratulations to PHS's own Kyleigh Conner, Callie Kidd, and Zach Todd for representing PHS so well in the NEMYF organization! Northeast Mississippi Youth Foundation (NEMYF) Board Members from Pontotoc HIgh School, North Pontotoc High School and South Pontotoc HIgh School recently presented a $483 grant funding check to Churches United Food Pantry. The students worked to raise the funds as part of service through NEMYF, which is an initiative of the CREATE Foundation. The NEMYF organization, as a whole, awarded $7,845 in grant funding to 19 nonprofits across Northeast Mississippi which address needs related to youth, special needs and human services, education, and the arts.
Special thanks to Mrs.Stewart McMillan of CREATE who guides NEMYF Board Members in their leadership and philanthropic efforts.

(4/13) MSU Extension Agents from the Northeast District presented Welcome to the Real World! to PHS's CCR students.

At different stations students learned about money management. They received assigned jobs, spent their income, registered their expenses, and updated the balances of their checkbooks. When participants ran out of money, they got a second—or third—job!

(4/13) Mrs. Harlow's geometry classes practiced their knowledge of polygons by completing an outside scavenger hunt last week.

(4/13) PHS Student Council volunteers to support runners at the Regional Rehabilitation Center 5K.

(4/7) Pontotoc High School is thrilled to announce Rylen Mounce is one of the sixteen seniors from across the state who has been selected as a Lindy Callahan Scholar-Athlete for the Class of 2026.  Mounce is a three-sport athlete at Pontotoc High School, participating in football, powerlifting, and track.
