Three of our Senior Warriors have been accepted into the Fall 2021 Toyota Creating Your Future Internship Program.

Ms. Pittman's U.S. History students studied the Progressive Era this week, researching such topics as African American rights, women's suffrage, social welfare, prohibition, and corporate regulation in the library's books and online databases. Then they presented their research to their classmates.

Students in Mr. Tipler's College and Career Readiness Classes have been exploring the Skills Foundation of Mississippi's Get on the Grid website and learning about all the high need career fields here in North Mississippi. Each student was assigned a high need career field to research and to create a presentation using Google Slides to share with their peers.

We thank Mrs. Beth Waldo, Pontotoc County Chamber of Commerce and Main Street Association Director, for speaking to College and Career Readiness Classes concerning the importance of community service. Students learned about the benefits of serving their community, as well as, were given examples of upcoming opportunities for them to serve.

Mrs. Parman's Comp. 2 class wrote film scripts for their first assignment. In small groups students wrote their scripts and then created two to ten minute short films or trailers. The students presented their videos Friday in the library.

Joseph Henry received recognition from Rural Medical & Science Scholars program. He was among 15 students enrolled in the four-week summer program at Mississippi State University to encourage high school students to pursue health or science careers in rural areas of the state.

The PHS cheer squad is excited to host "Mini Cheer Camp." Participants will join PHS and PJHS Cheerleaders during practice on Sept. 7-9 from 3:30-5:30 and will perform their dance before the football game on Sept. 10.

All students and staff are required to wear a face covering, regardless of vaccination status, while indoors and on buses. This policy was enacted in an effort to limit quarantines, so students and staff may remain on campus.

All students K-12 should have an application on file, regardless of household income.
