Math Competition

9/4/24: On Friday, August 31st, 35 enthusiastic young women journeyed to Mississippi University for Women to participate in the SK Kovalevsky Mathematics Competition. The day began with a challenging exam, followed by an inspiring talk from guest speaker Dr. Clifton Wingard, who discussed the intriguing world of patterns and problem-solving. Participants then engaged in three interactive small group sessions, exploring a variety of mathematical games, including "GO", Pentominoes, and Sudoku puzzles. The event concluded with the awarding of scholarships to the top performers, celebrating their exceptional mathematical talents.
