Physics Study Sound Waves

4/18/24: PHS physics students have been studying sound waves, particularly resonance in open tubes. FBC Pontotoc allowed students access to the pipe room behind the pulpit in the sanctuary. School nurse and organist Mitzi Russell played the organ and explained how it functions by forcing air through the pipes. Pipes range from the size of a pencil to taller than 8 ft.
