These independent study opportunities for college credit are provided through Toyota Wellspring/CREATE and cover the cost of one online college class per scholarship recipient for Fall 2022 in one of the following career interest fields: Healthcare, STEM, and Hospitality and Tourism.
Courses offered are:
- Introduction to Health Professions I - NEMCC
- Introduction to STEM Professions I - ICC
- Introduction to Hospitality and Tourism Industry - ICC
Registration and completion of these online classes is the responsibility of the individual student, under parent/guardian supervision, and should be completed independently, outside of PHS class time. Grades for these classes are shown on the student's college transcript, not on their PHS transcript. The classes are online, however parents are responsible for making sure students report to the college campus for their midterm and final proctored exams.
Students who are interested in these opportunities for Fall 2022 should act now as this funding is first come, first served. Each 11th and 12th grader should have received an email from Mrs. Dale on May 12th and then again on August 8th detailing requirements and concerning next steps. Additionally the dual enrollment contact at ICC is Dr. Brandi McCraw at [email protected] or 662-862-8989 and the dual enrollment contact at NEMCC is Callie Stanley at [email protected] or 1-800-555-2154 and then press option 1, should parents have any questions or concerns.
We thank Toyota Wellspring/CREATE for this special dual enrollment scholarship funding for students.
